The Mustang Media Center, in collaboration with EPIC Books, an online resource providing thousands of free high-quality books, encourages students to continue reading during virtual learning. "Epic is the leading digital reading platform-built on a collection of 40,000+ popular, books from 250+ of the world's best publishers." Since school began on September 8, 2020, Lone Jack School Center students have read over 150 books, earning 4 Readerpillar Badges, and logging more than 20 hours of reading. This is AWESOME!

Mrs. Mills wants to encourage students to also take advantage of the KYVL-Kentucky Virtual Library, where they can also access thousands of online resources and ebooks.
Mrs. Mills is also posting weekly readings for all grade levels in the Mustang Media Center Google Classroom. Please check those out! For the primary classrooms, she is currently reading picture books each week and also bringing stories to life with animated books provided by Vooks, a free streaming library of read-aloud storybooks. She is presently reading the first chapter of a series of books authored by Dan Gutman, including Miss Daisy is Crazy!, Mr. Klutz is Nuts!, and Mrs. Roopy is Loopy! to the 4th and 5th grade classes. This week's read will be Back to School, Weird Kids Rule! She is also reading the book, Wonder, for the 6th through 8th grade classes.
