2019 Junior Beta State Winners

The state level Junior Beta competition was held in Louisville, Kentucky on January 16th through the 18th.  At the competition Bell County was well represented by students from both Bell Central School Center and Page School Center.  Both schools have multiple winners who have all qualified to advance to the National Competition in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in June.

 

Bell Central School Winners:

Junior Woodworking - 1st Place/Best in Show Arts and Crafts:  Camdyn Thomas

Junior Book Battle - 2nd Place:  Emma Gambrel, Austn robbins, Shelby Cornett

Recyclable Art - 2nd Place:  Gage Reed

Robotics - 4th Place:  Gauge Bauer, Evan Heck, Cayden Huff, Noah Brock, George Pace, Madeline Allen, Kamryn Brock, Bailey Keck

 

Page School Center Winners:

Junior Book Battle - 1st Place:  Bree-Ann Greene, MArli Hacker, and Kaelyn Miracle

Elementary Quiz Bowl - 2nd Place:  Blake Burnett, Elijah Hampton, Hailey Sanders, and Logan Stepp

Elementary Science - 2nd Place:  Carson Walters

Junior Woodworking - 3rd Place:  Landon Eldridge

Junior Speech - 4th Place:  Jackson Walters

Kentucky State Beta Convention winners from Bell Central and Page School Centers are moving on to Nationals in Orlando, Florida at Disneyworld this summer.   Both groups were recognized for this achievement at the Bell County Board of Education meeting in March. 

Page School Center Junior Beta, sponsored by Pam Miracle, placed 1st for Book Battle Division I at the State Beta Convention.  Those students are pictured below (left to right):  Kaelyn Miracle, Natalie Hubbard, and Bree-Ann Greene.

Bell Central Junior Beta, sponsored by Katrina Goodinight, Trina Fuson, and Becky Williamson, had students who won or placed in several categories at the State Beta Convention.  Their awards included:  Book Battle Division I - 2nd Place:  Meredith Allen, Michaelyn Dye, and Jared Knuckles; Book Battle Division II - 1st Place:  Shelby Cornett, Emma Gambrel, and Austin Robbins; Handmade Jewelry Division - 1st Place:  Baylee Keck; and Fiber Art Division II - 2nd Place:  Camille Thomas.  This group of student is featured below in the picture:
