Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)
-
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Austria (not Australia). He was a composer of the Classical time period. Mozart was a child prodigy. His father recognized and encouraged his son's genius. When Mozart was 6 he began traveling with the rest of his family to perform for all of Europe. He wrote his symphony at age 9. Mozart spoke 4 different languages: English, German, Italian, and French. In the last years of his life, Mozart got ill and began writing a Requiem...also known as the "Death Mass". His student finished the Requiem because Mozart died. He was also famous for a serenade called, "A Little Night Music", which was written during financial difficulty.
-
A musical child prodigy, he began learning the piano at the age of four and played it brilliantly by six.
-
Young Mozart began traveling with his family at the age of 6. They traveled all over Europe performing for royalty.
-
It is disputed whether or not Mozart's body is actually buried at this precise location. He was initially buried in a pauper's grave (where poor people were buried), and some doubt whether it was ever found again.
-
Mozart's grave is always arranged immaculately with fresh flowers. There is a small, sad angel and broken column to tastefully morn his life.
