Tardies do not accumulate to make an absence for attendance calculation purposes, but three tardies do accumulate to make an absence for court purposes. Attendance for all students in the state will be based on the actual amount of time a student is absent from school with a sixty minute tardy allowance. Over the sixty minute allowance, the student will be absent a percentage of the day. 2007-2008 school/district actions for absentees 1. Phone call home on each day of absence 2. Letter to Parent after 2 unexcused days 3. Home Visit after 3 unexcused days 4. After student has been absent 6 unexcused days, the Drop out prevention director will file an A&A with the Director of pupil personnel which will mail a final notice to the legal guardian. Final notice will states "unless the violation of the attendance laws cease within on day (24-hours) after receipt of this notice, it will be necessary to proceed in court." 5. If no response from guardian, the director of pupil personnel will file charges with appropriate agency.
